Hello there! I am a 38-year-old wife, mother, daughter, sister, special education teacher, and now, blogger! Teaching special education is truly my calling, but my other passions include reading, photography, music, cooking, and spending time with my boys!
I’m a 3rd generation Atlanta native (Marietta) and have never wanted to live anywhere else! My husband Patrick and I have been married for ten years and we have an awesome 8-year-old son named Will.
I graduated in 2001 from the University of Georgia, but thanks to my Dad taking me to Georgia Tech games from the time I could walk, I am NOT a Bulldog fan. I got my Masters degree in Teaching (M.A.T.) from Oglethorpe University in 2005, and my special education certification from Georgia State University in 2009.
I come from a huge, loud, obnoxious Southern family, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. My parents (Buz and Jodi, as they are known to the grandkids) have been married for 42 year, and I am lucky enough to have two younger sisters, Janie and Shelley, a niece and nephew, Ava and Jacob, and a brother-in-law, Ben.
The pictures above are from our 1st Annual Turkey Day Games in 2015, and they took place on Thanksgiving at the lake, my happy place.
